Son of Robert Clark, of the Church Mission Society (CMS), he was a medical doctor stationed at the CMS premises in Amritsar.

He first surfaces in 1885 when he writes a set of questions to Hakeem Nooruddin, to which the latter replied in 1888.

He is then the host of the 'great controversy' between Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and [Abdullah Athim] that took place on CMS premises, and he mentions it thus in the biography of his father ('Robert Clark of the Panjab, published 1907). Although it took place in 1893 (when he did not overtly claim to be a prophet), Dr. Clark still refers to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet who predicted his death and that of Athim within 15 months.
