Eleven Regions ban Ahmadiyya
VIVAnews - Indonesian Commissions for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence reveals that at least 11 cities and provinces have issued regulations on the restriction of Ahmadiyya teachings.
As of February 2011, in the aftermath of Cikeusik mob attack committed against Ahmadi members in Banten, four provinces and cities have released the regulations as such. The listed four includes South Sumatra, Pandeglang (Banten), Samarinda (East Kalimantan), and East Java. Earlier, other areas spreading across Indonesia have banned Ahmadiyya members from outspreading their beliefs like East Lombok (1983), Kuningan of West Java (2002), Garut of West Java (2005), Cianjur of West Java (2005), and Sukabumi of West Java (2006).
The regulations refer to the Joint Decree of Three Ministers and recommendations from local Indonesian Cleric Council (MUI).

Tough but Necessary
It is a tough choice for politicians and law enforcement, but one has to protect citizens' rights but also take a look at the Ahmadiyya themselves:
1. The Ahmadi community is a personality cult that is opposed to democracy and is run like a private for-profit company as their leader is elected for life and is not bound by the opinion of anyone, and Ahmadi women do not take part in the elections of of the ineffective 'consultative body' whose opinion is not binding on the cult leader. Their previous leader met Mussolini and openly supported fascism as the ideal form of government
2. Regarding Pakistan, the Ahmadiyya 'persecution' racket is simply this: the vast majority of complaints lodged in Pakistan under 'anti-Ahmadi' laws are by Ahmadis themselves in order to get asylum in Western countries and thus contribute more money to the coffers of the cult leaders. There is NO data available for conviction rates under section 298 - the so-called anti-Ahmadi laws, and with no conviction/imprisonment, there is not threat of persecution.
3. The recent bombs in Ahmadi mosques are part of a sinister terrorist/American campaign and their mosques were not the only ones targeted. Just having the freedom to worship and build mosques and have their headquarters and their own city in Pakistan shows that they are not persecuted -- discriminated maybe, but not persecuted.
While the Ahmadiyya should have full legal and moral rights, a review of this 'persecution' racket should be undertaken in Bangladesh and Indonesia, which are going down the same slippery slope. One can never appease the Ahmadiyya, for they dance to the Western asylum tune.

Twenty-seven members of the US Congress have sent a letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to revoke government regulations that discriminate against the Ahmadiyah sect and religious minorities.
In the letter dated March 15, the Congressmen expressed their “deep concern” on decrees issued by provincial authorities, including East and West Java governors banning Ahmadiyah from practicing its religion publicly.
“We also ask that you immediately revoke the decree that bans Ahmadiyah from conducting religious activities in the country and repeal the country’s long-standing blasphemy law, which is used to prosecute religious minorities who exercise their right to freedom of religion expression,” they said in a statement received by The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
The Congressmen also referred to the brutal attack on Ahmadiyah members in Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten, last month that killed three Ahmadis in the presence of police officers.
One Ahmadiya mosque sealed
VIVAnews - The Bogor administration, West Java, shut down a mosque belonging to Ahmadi members located in Sindangbarang, West Bogor Subdistrict, on Monday, following a series of protests conveyed by the locals who have long demanded that the mosque is closed.
A Bogor official, Edgar Suratman, police officers, and local figures watched over the action. Edgar said the sealing of the Ahmadi mosque was specified by a decree issued by Bogor Mayor, who has made way for the banning of Ahmadiyya teaching in the city.

Local government ongoing activity

Ahmadi person blamed for riot
Many of the perpetrators of the attacks have been punished, but the Indonesian prosecutor has demanded a stiffer sentence for the sole Ahmadi defendant in the 2011 riot in which three Ahmadis were brutally killed. He said that the riot was started by the Ahmadiyya as they had come prepared for fighting with weapons and a cameraman to videotape the episode — after the local police had asked them to leave. Unfortunately, the Ahmadi contingent from Jakarta was vastly outnumbered by the local rioters.
The Makassar incident
During the sentencing, when it became apparent that the Ahmadi was going to be sentenced for incitement, an FPI mob attacked an Ahmadiyya building but no-one was injured. Police asked Ahmadiyya to be careful, but the next morning 10 members came back to the building with 'human rights' observers. The police were outnumbered once again, and the Ahmadiyya once again did not obey police instructions.
The state is moving to ban the Ahmadiyya organisation, which is a tough but possibly necessary step to do at this stage as there have been repeated reports of non-compliance with instructions.
Riots are riots - just as the London riots proved and police are frequently outunumbered. Riot control requires compliance with police instructions by all parties:
Anyone have more info on Makassar?
Tragic Riot situation
It was a tragic riot situation that could have been avoided had the Ahmadiyya obeyed the police request the previous night to not confront the rioters. It is a remote rural area with only a few police people. The Ahmadi who was sentenced was the 'security chief' of the Ahmadiyya who had arrived from Jakarta after a few hours drive -- in violation of police requests -- and so did the cameraman, who stood by filming the whole episode.
The loss of life is deplorable and the sentences may have been light, but this is entirely the right message to send: obey the police who are outnumbered and who want to prevent a riot situation. In this case, the Ahmadiyya exacerbated an unfortunate situation, and their 'security head' was sent in from Jakarta despite police advise to the contrary.
